This is so super easy to make:
Gravy ~ make as you usually make gravy (brown flour and seasonings in oil, add water and simmer)
then add soy sauce,
chinese 5 spice,
and sesame oil,
maybe a teaspoon of each, taste it, make it how you like it.
Optional: some people like onions in their Egg Foo Yung so I would add them to the gravy…
6 eggs whisked to foam, pinch of salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Heat oil in large flat frying pan or griddle. Pour whisked eggs into pan pull cooked eggs to center and move pan so the uncooked eggs will cover the surface of the pan. Creating a ribbon-y effect with the eggs. Similar technique to making an omelet. When the egg is almost cooked and golden brown on the bottom, cut into pieces you can flip. Brown the other side of the egg.
Move each piece of egg into serving or storage container. Cover each piece with gravy, then layer with next layer of egg, cover with gravy.
I think I am going to end up making another batch of this, just a hunch, but I think they are going to want more.
